Once upon a time I assumed that transformation would be gentle. That one day I would simply wake up feeling lighter, unburdened, freed from the weight of the past. But the harsh reality is that rebirth is rarely so kind. It is fire and ashes, a shedding of skin that can feel more like unraveling than becoming. This I learned the hard way.
A time came when I stood on the edge of my own undoing. I had spent years holding onto things that no longer served me—beliefs, relationships, fears that kept me small. I was afraid to let go, clinging to what was familiar, even as it smothered me. Then life, as it does, intervened. A series of endings swept over me like a wildfire, burning away everything I thought was stable. Surrounded, I had no choice but to surrender to the flames.
That was the year I met the phoenix. Not in a dream or a vision, but in the way I rose after losing everything. I realized then that destruction is not punishment—it is initiation. The fire comes not to end us, but to carve us into something truer, something freer.
Now, as the earth turns toward the season of fire and renewal, I feel that familiar pull again. The air is thick with possibility, and the world hums with the magic of becoming. Now is the time to step into the flames, to allow what no longer fits to burn away, to rise from our own ashes.
A Ritual for Rebirth
On the night when the fire calls to you, find a quiet place beneath the open sky or before the flickering glow of a candle. Gather something that represents what you are releasing—an old letter, a scrap of fabric, a word scrawled onto paper. Hold it in your hands. Let yourself feel the weight of it one last time.
Close your eyes and whisper your farewell. Honor what has been, even the pain, even the lessons you wish you hadn’t needed. Then, when you are ready, offer it to the flames. Watch it burn. Feel the shift inside you. In the smoke, see the shape of your own becoming. Really use your magickal focus.
When the fire has done its work, anoint yourself with the scent of transformation, a blend of oils crafted in the spirit of the phoenix.
Phoenix Rising Oil Blend (must be diluted!)
– 3 drops cinnamon (for fire, courage, and passion)
– 2 drops myrrh (for release and spirit transformation)
– 2 drops orange (for joy and rebirth)
– 1 drop clove (for strength and resilience)
– Jojoba, sunflower, sweet almond, or your favorite oil as a carrier
Mix the oils in a small glass bottle. Anoint your wrists, heart, and the back of your neck as you whisper your own words of renewal. Let the scent remind you that you’re not what you have lost—you are what you have become.
The earth turns. The fire burns. The phoenix rises.
And so do you.

Past life memories and psychic abilities showed up early and claiming those abilities in the face of oppressive religious family doctrines has been a gift in disguise, informing her purpose to help others free themselves from outmoded conditioning, release trauma, and make space for soul truth and hidden gifts to shine forth. Embodying her spiritual path, owning the mystic within and living from that truth is her continuing challenge and mission.
