Imagine it’s late, the world is quiet, and it’s just you and your mirror, a candle flickering as you sit face-to-face with yourself. Tonight, you’re here to explore the parts of yourself that are often pushed away or hidden. In this moment, invite them to be seen. These mysterious aspects are your archetypes—primordial patterns of meaning and energy that live within us all. Each one, such as the Mystic, the Rebel, the Lover, the Warrior, and many more, carries a unique wisdom and a raw energy meant to help us on our journey.
These archetypes are more than personalities; they are deep, ancient forces, each embodying a different aspect of the human experience. The Mystic opens us to the hidden layers of life, the Rebel pushes us to break free, and the Lover fuels our passion and desire for connection. But when ignored or suppressed, they don’t just disappear; they act out in distorted ways, seeking attention. The Mystic may turn to escapism, the Rebel to self-sabotage, and the Lover to toxic drama or neediness.
Tonight, with self-compassion and curiosity, we invite their authentic, intrinsic expression to come forward.
Light your candle, place it in front of the mirror, and let its glow create a sacred, gentle space. Take a few deep breaths. With each exhale, feel the old patterns that are ready to be transmuted or released. Look into your reflection and welcome the archetypes that make you uniquely you. Invite them in: the Mystic, the Warrior, the Artist, the Lover, etc. See which ones emerge for you from within. Feel into the hidden wisdom they carry, even the less appealing ones.
Gazing into the mirror, look into your eyes and ask each archetype what it’s been attempting to express. What insight does the Mystic offer that could open your world? How does the Rebel’s courage want to help you step out of old boundaries? Give each one a chance to speak openly, showing how it can serve rather than struggle. Keep an attitude of curiosity and exploration.
When this feels complete, look directly at your reflection and speak your intentions to welcome these energies. For example, you might say, “I welcome the Mystic’s guidance to connect me with my deeper intuition,” or “I invite the Warrior to bring me strength without unnecessary battles.” Write or say your own affirmations for the archetypes within you that have been acting out in distorted ways. For example, “I invite the Addict within me to show me where I have been disowning my Inner Mystic.” Keep it personal and tune in to radical self-acceptance and compassion, as you invite their energetic expression to “upgrade.” Seal this with a gaze into your reflection, honoring the potential each archetype holds for you.
When you blow out your candle, send your intentions out into the universe. Journal, create an altar, or in your own way, mark the ritual with a physical action. Remember, these parts of you are here to enrich your life. With each archetype welcomed and integrated, you become a little more whole, a little more aligned. And that, my friend, is where the real magic begins.

Nicki Ojeda (Tatiara) has been a tarot and past life reader for over 35 years. Nicki learned about tarot through her witchcraft and herbal studies as a youngster when she was gifted “The Herbal Tarot” from her mentor. It has been with her ever since. Past life memories and psychic abilities showed up early and claiming those abilities in the face of oppressive religious family doctrines has been a gift in disguise, informing her purpose to help others free themselves from outmoded conditioning, release trauma, and make space for soul truth and hidden gifts to shine forth. Embodying her spiritual path, owning the mystic within and living from that truth is her continuing challenge and mission.
