Stone Magic: Rose Quartz

By Katrina Rasbold

Welcome to our newest column on the Green Egg Blog, “Stone Magic.” Each week, we will explore a different stone and the magical energies attributed to it by folk wisdom. This week’s stone is Rose Quartz, one of the most common of the quartz presentations. The hallmark of the quartz family is the regulation of energy, which is why quartz crystals were used in watches to modulate the energy pulses from the battery. When we hold quartz, it regulates and harmonizes our energy, creating a healthy baseline. large piece of rose quartzRose Quartz is a lovely pink stone that is receptive and works by drawing energies to it, then transforming and regulating that energy when it again releases it.

This beautiful stone promotes self-love, self-acceptance, and improves a person’s self-image, which lends the perfect boost to glamoury spell work. It promotes forgiveness, compassion, and the sweeter aspects of love (as opposed to the passionate side of love).

It is great for healing rifts, promoting family love and unity, and increasing connectedness between people. It opens and heals the heart chakras when imbalances are present or when someone suffers from a broken heart. It is the “uncross my heart” stone.

Its energy regulating effects encourage duality and mutuality between people and can mitigate and negate power struggles. The power of rose quartz to minimize power struggles, promote a positive self-image, and cultivate self-love makes it the perfect stone for those who wish to improve their physical form in some way.

Use raw or polished rose quartz in mojo bags or Witch’s Bottles for love and happy relationships. Wear it on your left hand to bring your soulmate to you or to attract loving (or better) friendships. Give someone a gift of rose quartz on its own or as jewelry to bridge gaps and create unity. Keep a rose quartz on your desk at work to encourage kindness and reduce stress with co-workers.
