It is associated with salamanders, the little fire elementals that dwells in the south quarters of magical places. Because of its association with fire, it is also connected with Midsummer celebrations.
Mullein “shines a light” on vague situations, revealing the truth. It illuminates new ideas and opportunities the user may not have noticed before.
It’s tall, phallic presentation makes it the perfect herb for drawing love to a man.
The large stalks of Mullein were, in the past, soaked in oil and burned as torches, which also furthers its association with fire and light.
