Stone Magic: Jade

By Katrina Rasbold

One beautiful quality of jade that many people do not know about is that when it is struck, it produces a lovely, resonant tone, which makes it an excellent component for wind chimes and musical instruments such as xylophones and gongs.

Jade is sacred in China and statues of Buddha and other deities are often carved from jade.

It is one of the few stones used in weather magic and is said to have power over different weather formations. Thrown into water, it is said to bring on mists, rains, or snow.

Jade is a love stone and is sometimes given as an engagement gift. It’s soothing green color lends a powerful healing energy and activates the body’s own healing powers, strengthens immunity, and purifies the blood.

It is connected to longevity and is sometimes used to carve into bowls so that its healing and life-sustaining properties absorb into the food served in those bowls.

Wearing jade while you garden improves the health of the plants you care for and burying a small piece in each of the corners of a garden increases the vitality of the plants that grow there.

Its green color attracts money and prosperity to the user. It is also helpful in achieving the best outcome to business negotiations.
