The Mystic Witch’s Journey: My Personal Communion With Brigid

By Nicki Ojeda (Tatiara)

In the soft, quiet breath of the season, regardless of weather, the call of Imbolc stirs something within me. A gentle reminder that Brigid calls me to reawaken the embers of inspiration and renewal. It feels like being called to dance with the Inner Mystic. The flame of spirit within, soul-fueled dreams and authentic aspirations take center stage, as I tap into the reviving glow of Imbolc.

In the cozy sanctuary I’ve crafted, candleflames flicker, and crystals hum with the magic of Brigid’s essence. Lighting a candle becomes a portal to a sacred space where poetry flows freely, and healing vibes abound. Weaving a Brigid’s Cross becomes my personal ritual, a symbolic act of entwining art, music, and soul fire into the very fabric of my surroundings.

As Brigid’s flame wraps me in a comforting embrace, I allow myself the quiet to discern the voice above the cacophony of stimuli around me. I feel a spark within, urging me to kindle dreams long kept on standby. It’s as though the universe is saying, “Embrace the now- keep becoming the person you’ve always envisioned.”

I chant verses from the heart. They seem to echo softly, and I find myself drawn into her sacred well of inspiring visions, Brigid’s blessings enveloping me. It’s not just a conversation with the universe; it’s a communion, a chance to unearth timeless wisdom and receive a re-vivification from the sacred well within.

Taking a moment to simply be, I feel Brigid’s healing touch, encouraging me to allow more rest, more reflection, as though the quiet of winter were upon me, as in times past. Self-care transforms into soul care, a rebellious act of love for the unique tapestry of my being. I immerse myself in the transformative vibes that Brigid shines.

Symbols come alive – the eternal flame, the intricate Brigid’s Cross, and the reflective inner well, symbolized by my scrying mirror. Not only decorations, but consciousness keys, unlocking the magic of Brigid’s gifts, bit by bit within myself. In my own way, I let these symbols guide my journey through this mystical ceremony.

As the energy of the season continues to whisper its secrets, I tune into HER rhythm. In her flame, I re-discover the sparks of inspiration; in her magickal vibration, the balm of needed quiet and healing; and in her symbols, the language of a sacred dance with All. This Imbolc, I’m turning my celebration into a melody of reverence for Brigid, making music in her honor, offering poetry and songs from the heart. This Imbolc… I intentionally bask in her glow.

Brigid Essential Oil Blend for Renewal and Inspiration:

3 drops of Lavender
3 drops of Lemon
3 drops of Rose Absolute
9 drops of Jasmine Absolute
1 drop of Chamomile
9 drops of Blood Orange
1 drop of Frankincense

This aromatic blend is a tribute to Brigid’s essence. It’s perfect for dressing candles. I like to dilute it with sunflower oil, to symbolize returning light. I also like to add a few rowan berries to the bottle, charged with passionate focus. I always charge everything with intention and visualization, allowing the scents to intertwine like the threads of a Brigid’s Cross. I anoint myself with this fragrant potion, letting the renewal and inspiration of Brigid’s magick accompany me during the mystical dance of Imbolc.

Nicki Ojeda (Tatiara) has been a tarot and past life reader for over 35 years. Nicki learned about tarot through her witchcraft and herbal studies as a youngster when she was gifted “The Herbal Tarot” from her mentor. It has been with her ever since. Past life memories and psychic abilities showed up early and claiming those abilities in the face of oppressive religious family doctrines has been a gift in disguise, informing her purpose to help others free themselves from outmoded conditioning, release trauma, and make space for soul truth and hidden gifts to shine forth. Embodying her spiritual path, owning the mystic within and living from that truth is her continuing challenge and mission.
