Witch At The Crossroads: Third Eye Sight

The “third eye” is a concept embraced by many cultures. This uniquely empowered area of the physical body is associated with the brow chakra and with the color indigo. Friar Richard Rohr speculates that “First Eye” is what we perceive with the five physical senses. The “Second Eye” is our reasoning and reflection. The “Third Eye” goes further still and is, as Rohr puts it, “Having the mind of Christ.” It is a coming together of sacredness that puts one in a very holy and receptive state of mind. Herbalism For Your Day: Buckthorn

Buckthorn was one of the first magical herbs I learned about back in the 1980s. I was in Scorpio Herbs (no longer in operation) in Texas and one of the folks working in the shop told me that buckthorn “brings the magic together.” She went on to explain that if you include herbs in your spell work, you should also throw in some buckthorn because it encourages the other herbs to work together more cohesively toward your goal.

The Essynian Mysteries – Part Four

Some things follow upon others. When you consider a proposition thoroughly, it leads to further conclusions, so some things follow upon others. The Essynian Mysteries express a pervasive view of reality, that it follows a course of Natural Process. Natural process is how and why everything occurs in time, from the first instant of time when consciousness awakens from deep-sleeping existence and gives birth to time until the final instant of time when consciousness closes its eyes and falls off again into the timeless sleep of existence. Time is change and all change follows the course of natural process. Each instant of time is brought about by a change from the previous instant of time, and the change that occurs is the change made most inevitable by the existing conditions of that previous instant; the change that occurs is the change that must occur owing to those conditions, which include a certain temporal momentum. Herbalism For Your Day: Elecampane

Legend says Elecampane (Inula helenium) as named for Helen of Troy and grew in the places where her tears fell. Related to the sunflower, this plant is quite tall, up to sixty inches or so. It has a rigid stem with leaves that are green on the top and white on the bottom. It has vibrant yellow blooms that smell a bit like sweet camphor. In our circle, we work a strong duality between male and female energies and although we love the traditional celebrations, we always like to put our own spin on things. Beltane is a delicious High Holiday, ribald with innuendo and fun, celebrating the union between the masculine and feminine archetypes. In this blessed time of coming together, we honor the fertilization of the land and revel in the pleasures brought to us by earthly existence. That being the case, we always thought it as a little one-sided to ritualize this sacred day with only a maypole, the representation of male virility, thrusting its mighty prominence up out of the ripened land. Secrets of the Essynian Tradition: Meneology 4

Part Four.  You will recall, I hope, our discussion of the trines in Part Two.  There are three of them,  the Lunar Trine is 1-4-7, the Solar Trine is 2-5-8, and the Stellar Trine is 3-6-9.  The stellar trine is comprised of the divine menes [3], [6], and [9], whose properties are clearly different from, if not ‘greater’ than, the other menes.  Each trine has one dominant mene whose properties define the trine most emphatically, for the Lunar Trine it’s one/1 which defines the element of continuity in the trine, for the Solar Trine it’s eight/8 which defines the element of change and contrast, complemence and duality in the trine, and for the Stellar Trine it’s nine/9 which defines the element of completion and wholeness in the trine.  You may recall how each dominant mene was further indicated by the product of the trine members:

A school is being sued. A child could not come out trans to their parents, but they felt safe coming out at school. When the parents found this out at, this lead to the child attempting suicide, so the parents are suing the school accusing the school of forcing their child to identify as trans. The minute I found out about this I got on the telephone and called the school. I thanked them for being a safe place for kids. They really appreciated hearing from somebody that supported that. I gave them my contact information as a Priestess and I told them to let me know if they needed anything at all. I just might hear back from them. Know why? The Essynian Mysteries: Part Three

In part two of this deposition of the Essynian Mysteries I tried, probably too hard, to describe the fundamental relationship of two aspects of reality.  Primordial Existence is called Spirit because it appears to be nothing and yet it holds the vast and boundless potential of everything, an unimaginably immense and relentless potential which is the driving force of the multiverse.  It requires the awakened powers of Consciousness, which I call Maya, to transform this reservoir of potential into action and change.  Spirit is what Maya IS, and Maya is what Spirit DOES.  Spirit is Being, and Maya is Becoming.  Lao Tzu spoke of Spirit as “the Eternal Tao” (the everlasting existence), whereas he called Maya (consciousness) “the Tao that can be told; the Mother of the Ten Thousand Things.”  These are the two existences, Spirit and Maya.  The former is the existence of potential being, and the latter is the existence of particular beings.
